LimeX is a business division of British Sugar

LimeX is a co-product of sugar beet manufacturing derived from high-purity limestone that is used to clarify and filter ‘raw juice’ – the liquid sugar that is produced when sliced sugar beet are diffused with hot water.

Once the precipitated lime has purified the juice, it is pressed, dried and stored at the factories as LimeX.

Year round availability

During the annual sugar beet campaign, LimeX is available through backloading, providing a least-cost transport solution for farmers. For later spring and summer collection options exist to meet the needs of each customer.
